Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) induces E prostanoid (EP) receptor up-regulation on macrophages (Mϕ). Wild-type (WT) or tumour necrosis factor receptor 1 deficient (TNFR1^−/−) Mϕ were treated with 100 U/ml IFN-γ for 24 hr, or cultured with OT-II T cells in the presence of 10 μg/ml ovalbumin (OVA) for 72 hr, and stained with monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against CD11b and EP-2. EP-2 expression by IFN-γ-activated CD11b⁺ cells (a), naive OT-II CD4⁺ cells or cells activated by Mϕ (b) or CD11b⁺ cells from the same co-cultures (c) are shown.
