Substantia Nigra (SN) mRNA levels for Nurr1, HPRT1 and Hmbs were measured in adult Nurr1 +/+ (n = 5) and +/− mice (n = 5) by qRT-PCR. Two housekeeping genes (HPRT1 and Hmbs) did not differ between +/+ and +/− mice (panel A). For each sample, Nurr1 mRNA levels were normalized to the housekeeping gene Hmbs mRNA levels. Nurr1 mRNA levels are significantly decreased (66% of wildtype) in +/− mice compared to levels in +/+ mice (**p<0.005, Student's t-test).
