Administration of HDL-EL−/− improved LPS-induced mortality. HDL isolated from WT (HDL-WT) or EL−/− mice (HDL-EL−/−) were injected to WT mice through the tail vein (7.5 mg protein/kg), followed by the LPS administration (80 mg/kg, ip). Mice were carefully monitored, and survival rate at various times was recorded (n = 10 in each group, p < 0.05).
