The 27 possible genotype configurations for genotype data at a SNP for three individuals (a trio). The two alleles for the SNP have been generically defined as A and B. Each set of trio is arranged such that the putative parents are joined to the putative offspring by the two lines, where solid lines indicate that the observed genotypes are consistent with mendelian transmission and dotted lines indicate that the observed genotypes are inconsistent with mendelian transmission.
