Preparations of rhamnomannans derived from P. boydii-induced cytokine release by macrophages through TLR4 signaling. Macrophages were obtained from WT or Tlr4^−/− mice and stimulated with preparations of P. boydii-derived rhamnomannans (RM, 50 μg/ml), LPS (100 ng/ml), Pam₃Cys (100 ng/ml), and polymyxin B (Pol. B) (10 μg/ml) were added during stimuli with preparations of rhamnomannans and LPS in some wells. Supernatants were recovered and TNF (A) and IL-10 (B) were quantified by ELISA, results represent mean ± S.E. and are representative of two or three different experiments with similar results. *, p ≤ 0.05.
