Fig. 6. — Changes in expression of genes related to glutamate metabolism. Total RNA was isolated from axes of Medicago truncatula subjected to H₂O (control), PEG (–0.25 MPa) or ABA (10 μM). Each RNA sample was used for quantitative RT-PCR analyses. The cDNA copy numbers for glutamine synthetase (GS1b and GS2), glutamate dehydrogenase (GDH3), NADH-GOGAT, asparagine synthetase (AS), and Δ¹-pyrroline-5-carboxylate synthetase (P5CS) gene were expressed as ratio (treatment versus H₂O). Each datum point is the mean of three independent experiments ±SE.
