The effect of light orientation and dark chilling on whole leaf photosynthesis (A) and stomatal conductance (B) in P. dilatatum leaves. Plants were either maintained at optimal growth temperature (controls), or subjected to dark chilling for either one or two nights. Light was oriented to either the adaxial (closed bars) or the abaxial (open bars) leaf surface. Data are the mean±SE of nine plants per treatment with each gas-exchange parameter measured separately.
