Time course of depurination of ribosomes treated with RTA in vitro. Seven pmoles of yeast ribosomes were incubated at 30°C for 3, 5, 10, 20, and 30 min in the presence of RTA at a final concentration of 0.25 nM. The rRNA was extracted and equal amounts were used for qRT-PCR. The fold increase in depurination relative to nontreated ribosomes was determined by the comparative CT method. Data are the mean ±SD of triplicate reactions.
