Note: Reading Row one as example, of the 2,179 individuals in category (A1), 77.8% were identified with only the chronic back pain CCC code “205” in the MEPS Medical Conditions file, 21.8% were identified with only the acute back pain ICD “846” or “847” codes, and less than 1% were identified as having both types of medical conditions, conditions coded as CCC “205” and conditions coded as ICD “846”, “847”. This tables constructs 6 categories of similar patterns of approximated Episodes-of-Pain groups, for adult BackPain cases identified in MEPS Panels 5-through-10 Medical Conditions file, who also have ambulatory utilization events (N = 8,244).
