Comparison of APA (0.016 mg/kg) and candesartan on BP in SHRs. Intravenous injection of recombinant APA (n = 5) and candesartan (n = 5) significantly decreased SBP for 5 d in SHRs. The magnitude of the antihypertensive effects of APA (0.016 mg/kg) and ARB (0.1 mg/kg) was similar. APA (0.016 mg/kg): bolus injection every day for 5 d; candesartan (0.1 mg/kg): continuous infusion by osmotic minipumps for 5 d. *P < .05, **P < .01 compared with pretreatment period.
