A screen capture of the opening window of KIS. It shows the four major modules–“Dictionary,” “Virtual Experimentation,” “Image Analysis,” and “Model Fitting”–of KIS that a user can start directly. The “Virtual Experimentation” module has two halves. Clicking on the left half of the module will start the regional kinetics simulation (Fig. 4a), whereas clicking on the right side of the module will start the whole-body kinetics simulation (Fig. 4b). A forum is also set up to allow user feedback and discussion of all aspects of the software system.
