Fold change (log₂) of selected genes after UV irradiation as measured by the array for MG1655 and RT-qPCR for AB1157, GW2730 (LexA(Def)) and DM49 (LexA ind-). AB1157 and MG1655 are known to have similar SOS response systems, RT-qPCR was run in triplicates and standard errors are indicated. All transcript levels were measured relative to rrsB, which was assumed to have a constant expression level, and the fold change values assume a maximum PCR efficiency of two.
