The channel assembly rate and total conductance of Cx50 are increased when coexpressed with AQP0 in paired Xenopus oocytes. Oocytes were pretreated with Cx38 antisense oligonucleotide. (A) Oocytes were microinjected with dH2O, Cx50 cRNA or Cx50 plus AQP0 cRNAs, respectively. Gap junction conductance was measured in paired oocytes by dual voltage clamp (right panel). Oocytes lysates were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotted with antibodies against Cx50, AQP0 or β-actin (left panel). The data are presented as mean ± s.e.m. (n=3). (*P<0.05, compared with Cx50). (B) Oocytes were microinjected with dH2O, Cx50*46L cRNA or Cx50*46L plus AQP0 cRNAs, respectively. (n=3).
