Emodin inhibits lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced NF-κB activation and IκBα degradation. (A) Cells were preincubated with emodin for 30 min, and then treated with LPS (0.1 µg·mL⁻¹) for 30 min. Cellular distribution of the NF-κB subunit p65 in human umbilical vein endothelial cells was detected by immunofluorescence staining. (B) and (C) Cells were preincubated with emodin for 30 min and then treated with LPS (0.1 µg·mL⁻¹) for 30 min. Cells were lysed with lysis buffer. The levels of p65 in total cell extract, cytosolic extract and nuclear extract (B), and IκBα degradation (C), were detected by Western blotting.
