Envelope sequences were amplified from viral RNA, and 20 clones were sequenced. Five clones representative of the population are shown. The predicted O-linked glycosylation site (amino acids 128 to 139) in gp120 is boxed. The gp120 variable regions (V1 to V5), the junction between gp120 and gp41, and the transmembrane domain (TM) are also indicated.
