The chart demonstrates how the age-adjusted functions of a disorder such as Parkinson's disease are modified by an acceleration of cell loss as depicted in Figure 5. At age 65 years, the prevalence without acceleration is, based on available data, about 700/100,000. If advanced by 5 years, the prevalence would be 1,200/100,000.
