Effects of α-tocopherol, α-tocotrienol, γ-tocotrienol and δ-tocotrienol on the induction of corticosterone in serum of LPS-stimulated 6-wk-old BALB/c female mice. Three mice for each concentration were injected i.p. with tocols in 5% triethylamine solution (0.2 mL/mouse) one h prior to LPS challenge, after conditioning them for 14 days. Mice were bled after 2 h later to collect serum. Serum corticosterone levels were determined according to a published procedure (3).
