Temporal changes in phosphoenolpyruvate carboxylase (PEPCase) activity in flag leaves and exposed peduncles at different stages. Each PEPCase activity value represents the average and the standard deviation of five experiments. Stages 1-5 correspond (respectively) to the end of anthesis, the milk-development stage, the soft dough-development stage, the hard dough-development stage and the ripening stage.
