X–ray changes suggestive of PE (proximal site without pulmonary infarction; associated high risk ) with following features: unilateral hyperinflation increased pulmonary hilar shadows due to pulmonary artery dilatation Westmark sign ( increased vascular markers in the opposite lung) cardiac and vessels changes typical signs of lobar/segmental artery obstruction in 5–10% of the cases elevated diaphragm on the affected side

X–ray changes where pulmonary infarction is associated (distal site) periferic shadow more often in the shape of a triangle small pleural effusion on the same side elevated diaphragm on the same side
