Histologic stain of ears inoculated intradermally with metacyclic L. infantum chagasi promastigotes. BALB/c mouse ears were inoculated with either saline (control) or 106 metacyclic L. infantum chagasi promastigotes. After 24 h, ears were removed, fixed in paraformaldehyde, paraffin embedded, and processed for histologic stains. Shown are hematoxylin and eosin stains of these sections.
