Schematic representation of the DNA repair response after P. aeruginosa infection. The bacterium causes significant DNA damage, which in turn initiates a broad range of DNA repair responses. OGG1 is a main responder and interacts with CSB, as well as XPB. This response may also involve other signals, such as Akt and ERK1/2 (not shown), to counteract DNA damage and rescue injured cells.
