In each photograph, the ventral nerve cord is at the bottom. In both wild-type and cab-1 mutants, RAB-3 immunoreactivity was restricted primarily to the ventral cord where many neuromuscular synapses are found. In contrast, in aex-3 animals much of the RAB-3 immunoreactivity was located in neural cell bodies.
