Gastric myoelectric and pressure activities recorded with an intraluminal electromyographic and manometric technique from the gastric antrum of a healthy subject during a period of absence of pressure waves (top tracing) and a period of contractile activity (bottom tracing). Note the slow waves of normal morphology and the frequency of 3 cycles/min that in correspondence with the contractions are followed by bursts of spikes[16].
