Effect of renal proximal tubule cells (RPTC) and normal renal kidney (NRK) cell lysate on cell viability. Confluent NRK-49F (NRK) and RPTC were treated with control culture medium (control) or NRK-49F and RPTC cell lysate from 6.6 × 105 cells for 20 h (A and B). After 20 h, cells were photographed (A), and cell viability was assessed by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay (B). NRK-49F cells were treated with RPTC lysates from the indicated number of cells for 20 h (C) or treated with RPTC lysate from 6.6 ×105 cells for the indicated time (D), and cell viability was assessed by the MTT assay.
