Myosin heads could be in 4 different states: dephosphorylated and detached (M), phosphorylated and detached (Mp), phosphorylated and attached (AMp), or dephosphorylated and attached (AM). The rate constants for phosphorylation (k1) and dephosphorylation (k2) were the same for attached and detached myosin heads. The rate constants for attachment (fp) and detachment (gp) of phosphorylated myosin, and detachment of dephosphorylated myosin (g) were functions of myosin strain (x).
