PA-induced LOX-1 is suppressed by siRNA directed against inositol-requiring kinase/endonuclease-1 (IRE-1) and PERK. THP-1 cells were transfected with siRNA for 48 h directed against IRE-1 (A), PERK (B), and activating transcription factor-6 (ATF-6) (C), and LOX-1 expression was analyzed by real-time PCR after PA stimulation (200 μM, 8 h), and normalized relative to 18S rRNA. Expression of the target gene of each siRNA, IRE-1 (D), PERK (E), and ATF-6 (F), was also quantified.
