Effect of valency of anti-gB antibodies on in vitro neutralization of HSV. (A) Bivalent antibodies MAb 2c (IgG) and 2c F(ab′)2 and monovalent 2c Fab were incubated in serial dilutions for 1 h with 100 TCID50 HSV-1 F or HSV-2 G before inoculation onto Vero cells. CPE was scored 72 h later as described in the legend to Fig. 6. Shown are antibody concentrations required to neutralize 100% of the viral inoculum from one of three representative replicate experiments. (B) Antiviral activity of 2c Fab fragments cross-linked with murine anti-Fab IgGs.
