COG112 improves DSS-induced colitis during the recovery phase. Mice were given DSS in the drinking water from day 0 to day 7 and then switched to normal drinking water after day 7 for recovery. COG112 or PBS was injected every day starting from day 0. A, change in body weight during the course of the experiment, n = 5 for control and control + COG112, n = 20 for DSS treatment, and n = 10 for DSS + COG112. *, p < 0.05; **, p < 0.01; ***, p < 0.001 versus DSS-treated only. B, lengths of colons were measured on day 16. ***, p < 0.001; versus control and §, p < 0.05 versus DSS-treated only. C, histological injury score on 0–40 scale. *, p < 0.05 versus DSS-treated only. D, representative photomicrographs of paraffin-embedded, hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections of colon.
