[³H]GSH uptake is enhanced in hgt1-Δ cells transformed with the five human genes. After growth at 30°C in minimal selective medium to a cell density (expressed as OD₆₀₀) of approximately 0.5, cells were washed and grown for another 11–12 h at 30°C in the sulfur-deficient medium in the absence of GSH. For the uptake experiments, cells were incubated with 500 μM ³[H]GSH in MES buffer. Values are given as means ± SEM, N=3-7 individual experiments. * Significantly different from hgt1Δ cells transformed with the empty pMETtPGK3 vector (p<0.05).
