The anti conformation of template is shown in red and the syn conformation in gray. (B) Anomalous difference Fourier map (contoured at 3σ) showing the two positions of the C5 Br atom of the templating base. Based on the map the templating base was modeled in both anti and syn conformations. (C) Simulated annealing Fo-Fc omit map (contoured at 3σ) with the atoms of the templating base of PolιU omitted.
