E2-mediated upregulation of XBP1 in ECC1 cells. ECC1 cells treated with E2 (1 nM) for 2, 4, 8, 16, 24 or 48 h and expression of XBP1 was measured using quantitative real-time PCR and compared with vehicle-treated cells (A). ECC1 cells were treated with CHX (10 μg/mL), DRB (75 mM) or FUL (1 mM) in absence or presence of E2 (1 nM) for 24 h and expression of XBP1 was assessed using real-time PCR (B). SKBR-3 and MDA-MB-231 cells were treated with E2 (1 nM) or vehicle (0.1% ethanol) for 24 h and expression of XBP1 was measured using quantitative real-time PCR and compared with vehicle-treated cells (C).
