Fis1 and Bap31 interact. (A) Total cell lysates were prepared from HeLa cells and the endogenous Fis1 (top) or Bap31 (bottom) were immunoprecipitated (‘IP Fis1' and ‘IP Bap31'). The association of Bap31 or Fis1 proteins was then detected in a western blot. (B) Fis1–HA was co-expressed either with full-length Bap31–myc or p20Bap31–myc at a 1:1 plasmid ratio in HEK293T cells. Total cell lysates were then subjected to immunoprecipitation with an α-myc antibody and the immunoprecipitates were analysed by western blot using α-myc (top) and α-HA (bottom) antibodies. ^** IgG light chain; ^* unspecific band.
