Ablation of floxed Men1 does not affect the number of glucagon-secreting alpha cells and serum glucagon levels in STZ-treated mice. Study design was described in Figure 1(c). Control Men1l/l (n = 18 mice) and Men1l/l; Cre-ER mice (n = 21 mice) were fed TAM at age of 12 weeks. Four weeks after the last dose of TAM feeding, STZ was i.p. injected at 40 mg/kg of body weight per day for 5 consecutive days. Pancreata and blood serum were collected from mice for further analysis, 4 weeks after STZ injections. (a) Quantitation of number of alpha cells in islets (n = 8 mice).
