Mitochondria were isolated from ΔH2-1 cybrid cells, harboring a heteroplasmic mtDNA deletion, and labeled with PicoGreen. Mitochondria were hydrodynamically mobilized through a capillary and detected on-column using laser-induced fluorescence. Mitochondria were then collected from the outlet of the capillary, and real-time PCR was performed to amplify the wild-type and deleted mtDNA. Of the collected samples, 35% were PCR negative
