For Zaichik and Heerspink the parameters were obtained by fitting the gain to the inverse of their measured thresholds. For the fitting, τ 2 was fixed to 0.016 s. The unreasonable large value τ N for Heerspink (lateral) stresses the problem of finding an appropriate fit if the data for low frequencies does not exhibit a plateau in the gain
