A peptide derived from the α3–β5 region of Gαs (P3) mimics Gαs protein in increasing the catastrophe frequency and dynamicity of microtubules. A, 20 μm Gαs peptide P3 increases the catastrophe frequency (events/min) by 188%, whereas the homologous Gαt peptide (PGt3) had no effect. Error bars, S.E.
