Adduct formation by DNA-trapping. The reaction was carried out for 10 min with 1 nM *DHT/G or *C/G in the presence of NaBH₄. The asterisk indicates the 5′-end-labeled strand. The samples and the temperatures used for the reactions are as follows: 10 nM PaNth and 2.24 µg P.aerophilum crude extract (Ex) at 70°C, or 10 nM EcNth at 37°C. The reaction mixture was analyzed on a 10% SDS–polyacrylamide gel and a phosphoimage of the reactions is shown. The adduct and free DNA are indicated on the left.
