The data are presented as the average results of at least three independent cultures. Cells were cultured in TV broth with 0.5% of the indicated carbohydrates and assays were performed as described in Materials and Methods. Activity is expressed as nmol of chloramphenicol acetylated (mg of protein⁻¹×min⁻¹).
