Results of attenuation compensation, which helps amplify the signal to the center of the image. Image (a) is the original image that was created assuming a constant 0.50 dB∕cm attenuation. Image (b) was reconstructed using image (c) as a variable attenuation model. The attenuation image was created by the method described in Ref. 13 using the transmitted signal. The attenuation values are represented in dB∕cm. The arrow in (c) represents the position of the mass.
