SJL/J and B6 mice (3/group) were sham infected or infected i.c. with 5×10⁶ pfu/mouse of TMEV on day 0. At days 2 and 6 animals were injected i.p. with 1 mg of BrdU every 12 hours for 24 hours. On days 3 and 7, the number of CD4⁺CD25⁺Foxp3⁺BrdU⁺ cells in the CNS (A&B) and spleens (C&D) of sham-infected and TMEV-infected animals were enumerated by FACS analysis. Percentages were then used to back calculate the total number of viable cells as determined by trypan blue staining. The bars indicate the mean ± SEM of 3 mice per group and is representative of 3–4 separate experiments.
