Salt-induced kinase 1 (SIK1) gene knockdown increased oxygen–glucose deprivation (OGD)-induced neuronal cell death in the presence of the histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor trichostatin A (TSA). Cell death was measured by lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release at 24 hours reoxygenation.
