Double-label immunoreactivity (C, F) for AQP4 (green, A, D) and NG-2 (red, B, E) is seen in DG (A-C) and CA1 (D-F) of the hippocampus. NG2-labeled cells appear throughout the hippocampus but mostly lack co-labeling with AQP4. Confocal images (G-I) from CA1 SR (G), DG ML (H) and DG hilus (I) demonstrate NG2-labeled cells (red) (Nissl, blue) and AQP4-labeled cells (green).
