Ability of the hydrophobic core of α2D and E7V to adopt a unique conformation as assessed by aromatic CD spectroscopy. Near-UV CD spectra were collected at 1 mM monomer concentration in 50 mM H2NaPO4, pH 7.3 for α2D (filled circles) and E7V (open circles) at the temperature of maximum thermal stability. Data were averaged for 10 s every 2 nm.
