Amounts of HA in choroid samples were determined from refractive index traces (as in Fig. 5) as integrated areas under the predominant HA peak. Data are expressed as micrograms HA/choroid punch after 1, 4, 8, 15, and 20 days of recovery. Each choroid sample represented a pool of three or four control or treated choroids. Values are the means of at least three independent MALLS experiments.
