FIGURE 3.
Preferential binding of canine GST-tagged galectins on synthetic arrays. GST-tagged canine galectins were incubated at multiple concentrations (between 0.1–5.0 μg/ml) with synthetic glycan arrays printed on glass slides. The binding was analyzed with a fluorescently tagged anti-GST antibody. The results were ranked at each concentration and the average ranking from all concentrations is shown on the representative profiles in red with 1 being the best binding (see supplemental Tables for all data). Numbers in black represent the position of the specific glycan on the array. One profile is shown for GST-Gal-1 (A), GST-Gal-2 (B), GST-Gal-3 (C), GST-Gal-4 (D), GST-Gal-7 (E), GST-Gal-8 (F), GST-Gal-9N (G), and GST-Gal-9C (H). Yellow circle, Gal; yellow square, GalNAc; blue circle, Glc; blue square, GlcNAc; green circle, Man; red triangle, Fuc; purple diamond, Neu5Ac.
