Shown here is a bedsharing mother-infant pair undergoing electro-physiological monitoring of brain wave activity (EEGs and EOGs) to identify transient arousals, awakenings, and sleep stage progression. For each member of this mother-infant dyad nasal air flow, chest movements, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, in addition to breastfeeding behaviors, were continuously recorded and filmed through infrared cameras.
