The expression levels at E12.5, the youngest age studied, were calibrated against bdnf expression. At this age, Bdnf and Ntf4/5 have similar expression levels in geniculate ganglion, while TrkB expression was much greater than Bdnf and Ntf4/5 (A). To compare expression levels across different ages, they were normalized to each sample’s respective reference gene expression and then reported as a fold of E12.5. The expression levels for Bdnf in the geniculate ganglion increased (B), Ntf4/5 decreased (C) and TrkB remained unchanged (D) as embryonic development progresses (E12.5 to P0).
