Missorting of Pma1 and Can1 in vma3Δ cells is rescued by buffering the culture medium to alkaline pH. Wild-type and vma3Δ cells bearing Pma1-GFP (A) or Can1-GFP (B) were grown in medium buffered to pH 4.2 and pH 6.6 (with 20 mm sodium citrate).
