Diabetes: fasting plasma glucose ≥ 126 mg/dL or use of diabetic medications; Dyslipidemia: LDL cholesterol > 160 mg/dL, HDL cholesterol < 40 mg/dL, triglycerides > 200 mg/dL, or use of cholesterol-lowering medications; Hypertension: blood pressure ≥ 140/90 mmHg or the use of antihypertensive medications.
Sample size for logistic regression models for each outcome.
Logistic regression model adjusted for age, race, BMI, education, and parity obtained at Year 2, and family history of diabetes obtained at Year 0. Values represent odds ratio (95% confidence interval) of women with PCOS compared to women without PCOS.
Logistic regression model adjusted for the covariates in Model 1 plus BMI at Year 20
