Cd-induced upregulation of phosphorylation of p38 MAPK (A and B), SAPK/JNK (C and D). Synchronous p53 MEFs were exposed to various concentrations of Cd and proteasomal inhibitors and anisomycin for 24 h. Quantification of Western blot bands of phosphorylation of p38 MAPK and SAPK/JNK was conducted in NIH ImageJ and expressed as the percentage of the corresponded control after normalization to β-actin. Statistical significance was determined using two-way ANOVA followed by Tukey-Kramer multiple comparison tests. A p value ≤ 0.05 or 0.01 denoted the presence of a statistically significant difference. *Indicates significance at p ≤ 0.05 and **indicates significance at p ≤ 0.01 of the individual treatment versus control in Tukey-Kramer multiple comparison tests.
